2008 School's Edition

Mathematics.com.au is pleased to announce that the
2008 School's Edition of our fully Australian, curriculum-based
online maths program is now available.

Would you like to see a dramatic improvement in your childs confidence? Provides every student at school with a personal account for unrestricted, 24/7 access to all Mathematics.com.au coursework.
Would you like to see a dramatic improvement in your childs confidence? Includes the new Teacher's Administration Centre, enabling teachers to easily integrate our lessons into classrooms, set homework and monitor student progress.

What you get with the 2008 School's Edition

Access to 600+ animated and narrated lessons, which cover the complete curriculum in all states in Australia for Years 7 to 10, and for the Year 11 & 12 General Course and the Year 11 & 12 Advanced Course.

Each lesson:
  - runs for 3 to 10 minutes, and is equivalent to the teaching component of one class
  - comes with a worksheet that tests and consolidates the lesson
  - comes with fully worked solutions
  - comes with a lesson summary that contains all definitions and worked examples used in the lesson animation.

The 2008 School's Edition gives every student access to all the maths courses on the Mathematics.com.au site. There are no restrictions on this subscription. Individual logins will be provided for every student nominated by the school, which gives each student access to all the coursework on Mathematics.com.au, from school or home, at any hour and as often as they need.

In addition, schools can take advantage of our new Teacher's Administration Centre, which allows teachers to integrate our lessons into the classroom, set homework and monitor student progress and usage.

Using Mathematics.com.au within the classroomAll lessons on our site are narrated and animated, with player controls that allow the student to watch, listen and re-do maths lessons again and again - to stop and rewind the "teacher" if necessary.

With each lesson being equivalent to the teaching component of one class, teachers can present these lessons as part of their traditional classes via projectors or SmartBoard technology.

Additionally, because students will be able to access the coursework outside of school, teachers can ask the students to preview the next day's classroom lesson by assigning a Mathematics.com.au lesson to watch the night before.

Worksheets can be used as homework, with results marked and feedback provided instantly online. Our Topic Tests give the teacher a fresh resource when preparing their students for exams: for the capable student they provide further practice of exam-style questions, and for the less-capable student they quickly highlight the problem areas and gaps in knowledge.

All worksheets, worked solutions and lesson summaries can be printed by both teachers and students from within the program and used for future reference.

Teachers can monitor all student usage, whenever and wherever it is used Being a completely online system, regardless of whether the student uses the maths program from school or home, on weekdays, weekends or even (hardly daring to think it!) during school breaks, teachers can simply go to Mathematics.com.au and log in to the Teacher's Administration Centre to see exactly how every student is using it.

The Teacher's Administration Centre is a powerful tool for teachers. It allows them to:

* view student usage and results, such as
  - when they've logged in
  - how many times they've logged in
  - how many lessons they've attempted
  - how many they've passed
  - their grades for every lesson
  - their average grade across all lessons
  - and many more related statistics

* print reports, such as
-   detailed student reports, which lists results for every lesson, including the student's first attempt, highest attempt and the number of attempts to pass the lesson.
  - summary student reports, which lists results aggregated at the topic level (think of 'topic' as meaning a chapter in a text book, with a topic containing on average about 10 lessons).

And of course the teacher can perform administrative tasks such as adding and removing students, creating teachers and organising students into classes.
